Studio Lifesaver Founding Member Addendum
Last updated: May 28, 2026
Hi — thanks for being one of the first 75 people to bet on Studio Lifesaver. This document is an addendum to our standard Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, and it covers the specific things that apply to you as a Founding Member during our beta period.
It’s written in plain language because that’s the relationship we want with you. Where this addendum and the standard Terms conflict, this addendum wins for Founding Members.
1. No Competitor Affiliation
By joining the Founding Member program, you confirm that you are not currently employed by, contracted with, or affiliated with any competing photography studio management tools, including but not limited to: ShootProof, Pic-Time, Pixieset, HoneyBook, Dubsado, Sprout Studio, Iris Works, Studio Ninja, Light Blue, Bloom, Tave, 17hats, or CloudSpot.
This clause exists to protect the integrity of the Founding Members community. If we discover a competitor affiliation, we reserve the right to revoke Founding Member status and revert your account to standard pricing.
2. What “beta” actually means
Studio Lifesaver is in active development. By signing up as a Founding Member, you’re acknowledging that:
- The product works, but it’s not finished. You may encounter bugs, occasional downtime, or features that change over time.
- We’re improving things constantly based on real-world use and your feedback.
- Some features may be added, modified, or removed during beta as we learn what photographers actually need.
In exchange for your patience with these realities, you get a permanently discounted rate and direct influence on what gets built. That’s the trade.
3. What we commit to you
As long as you’re a Founding Member, we promise:
- Honest communication. We’ll tell you about significant bugs, planned downtime, and major changes before they happen whenever possible.
- Best-effort uptime. We can’t promise 99.9% uptime as a small team, but we monitor the platform continuously and respond to outages as fast as we can.
- Your data is protected. We perform regular backups and will not knowingly delete or lose your data without notice. If something goes wrong, we’ll work to restore from backup.
- Response times. We aim to respond to all support requests within one business day, and to urgent issues (blocked client deliveries, payment failures, data loss) within four business hours during business days.
- A real say in the roadmap. You’ll be invited to monthly roadmap discussions in the Founding Members Facebook group. Your input directly shapes what we build next.
- Your founding rate, locked in. Detailed in Section 5.
4. What we ask from you
To make this work, we need a few things from you in return:
- Report bugs through the proper channels. Use the in-app bug reporter when something breaks. For urgent issues, email support@studiolifesaver.com with “URGENT” in the subject line. This helps us track and fix things efficiently.
- Give honest feedback. If something is broken, confusing, or missing, tell us. We’d rather hear it directly than read about it in a public review later.
- Keep unreleased features confidential. What you see in early access or in the Founding Members group stays in the Founding Members group. Don’t publicly share screenshots, descriptions, or details of features that haven’t been publicly released yet.
- Respect the community. Be kind and constructive in the Founding Members Facebook group and in your communications with us and other members.
5. Your Founding Member rate, explained
Your founding rate is locked in for as long as your subscription remains continuously active. Here’s exactly what that means:
- Your monthly or annual price stays the same as long as you don’t cancel. We will not raise your rate, ever.
- If you cancel and later return, standard pricing applies. The founding rate is tied to continuous active membership, not your account permanently.
- If you switch plans (e.g., Starter to Pro), you keep the founding-rate discount on your new plan, calculated as the equivalent percentage off the public price for that tier.
- If we add new plans or features in the future, your existing plan continues at your founding rate. If you choose to upgrade to a new plan, the founding rate may not apply to net-new tiers introduced after beta ends; we’ll communicate clearly if this happens.
6. Refunds during beta
We want you to feel safe trying this. Our beta refund policy is more generous than our standard policy:
- Annual plan refunds after 30 days: if you cancel due to a specific unresolved issue, we’ll provide a prorated refund for unused months. Just email us.
- Refunds for service failures: if a bug or outage causes meaningful business disruption, contact us. We’ll work with you on a fair resolution, which may include service credits or a partial refund depending on the situation.
7. Feedback and ideas
When you suggest a feature, report a bug, or share an idea with us, you’re giving us permission to use that feedback freely. Specifically:
- We can build, modify, or implement any idea you share without owing you compensation, credit, or attribution.
- This doesn’t change your ownership of your business, your client data, or your work — it only applies to feedback and suggestions about Studio Lifesaver itself.
- We deeply appreciate the input and often credit Founding Members publicly when they’ve inspired specific features — but that’s a courtesy, not an obligation.
This is standard practice in software, and we mention it explicitly so there’s no confusion later.
8. Limitation of liability
Things will occasionally go wrong during beta. Here’s how responsibility works:
- Our total liability to you for any claim is capped at the amount you paid to Studio Lifesaver in the previous 12 months.
- We’re not liable for consequential, indirect, or incidental damages — for example, lost business, client disputes, missed sales, or damages from a feature not working as expected.
- This doesn’t limit liability for things the law says can’t be limited (like gross negligence or fraud).
We take our responsibility to you seriously, and this clause exists so we can run a sustainable business that’s still here next year to keep building. If something goes wrong, our first response is to fix it — not to hide behind this clause.
9. What happens when beta ends
Beta will end when Studio Lifesaver is ready for general public release. At that point:
- You stay a Founding Member. Your locked-in rate continues. You don’t need to do anything.
- Your access to the Founding Members Facebook group continues. That’s a permanent perk for the first 75 members.
- This addendum’s terms continue to apply to you for as long as you remain a Founding Member. The beta-specific acknowledgments in Section 2 stop being relevant (it’s no longer beta), but everything in Sections 3 through 8 still applies.
- You’ll be the first to know. We’ll communicate the timeline clearly as we approach general release.
10. Changes to this addendum
We may occasionally update this addendum. When we do:
- We’ll email you a summary of what changed and why, at least 30 days before changes take effect.
- For material changes that affect your rights or your founding rate, we’ll get your explicit acknowledgment before the changes apply to you.
- All previous versions will be available on request.
We won’t make sneaky changes. That’s a promise.
11. Questions?
If anything in this addendum is unclear, or if you want to talk through any part of it before signing up, just email support@studiolifesaver.com. We’d much rather answer questions upfront than have you wondering later.
